Person-Centered Planning

The Texas Center for Disability Studies is a center of expertise in person-centered planning, training, and technical assistance. Our staff has worked with school districts, community MHMR centers, the Texas Department of Mental Health/Mental Retardation, individuals, and families to increase knowledge and skills about the development, implementation, and maintenance of this important planning process tool.

As a tool, person-centered planning, training, and technical assistance is used in developing Family Support programs and Transitional Support programs.

Additionally, we have conducted research projects on the effectiveness of the person-centered planning process and published the results in leading journals and books.
